Today I bring you yet another picture update. Excited, aren't you? Lainey Article

Yesterday, I brought you a picture. Today, I bring you news--er, gossip. Whatever, most people out there do treat gossip as news and bible, don't you? Yeah, that's what I thought.

So enter Lainey over at Lainey Gossip and her ultra fun articles, many of which have lately centered around Rachel--or Rachel and Ryan. I bring you this article in particular, though, because I thought it was a really good little read, and any Rachel fan (which means you--why else would you be here?) will also probably enjoy this little diddy.

Marriage Set Photo!

Here's a photo from the set of Rachel's upcoming movie Marriage!

The film started filming late in July in Vancouver, British Columbia and is set for release sometime in 2007! Keep your eyes out for new photos hopefully coming soon.

Now, for a person opinion; I'm not really loving the hair. While Rachel can pull off just about anything and still manage to look gorgeous, platinum is a little--esh for my taste.

Second Wave for Teen Choice Awards 2006

The second wave for the Teen Choice Awards have been announced, and Rachel has been nominated for two awards. Choice Liplock with Owen Wilson from The Wedding Crashers, and Choice Movie Scream for her turn in Red Eye.

Wedding Crashers co-star Isla Fisher has also been nominated for Breakout Performance and Choice Hissy Fit. Red Eye co-star Cillian Murphy was nominated for Choice Sleazebag for his roles in Red Eye and Batman Begins.

The third wave will be up July 27th, so go vote now!

I don't know how likely it is for Rachel actually attending this ceremony, since she'll be filming Marriage in Vancouver, but keep your fingers crossed, folks! The awards will air in late August.

Rachel McAdams (Wedding Crashers) is in town earlier than expected to begin work on the new period drama called Marriage, which also brings Pierce Brosnan back to town. The flick, which has a modest $12-million budget, revolves around a husband who choses to kill his wife rather than give up his adulterous ways. Brosnan just finished making the thriller Butterfly on a Wheel here a few months ago."

Personally, I really have no freaking clue. Memphis Flyer: Ira Sachs scores big names for his new movie: period genre flick Marriage.

Like fellow Memphis filmmaker Craig Brewer, Ira Sachs has parlayed Sundance success into a career as one of America's most promising young filmmakers.

A year and a half after capturing the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival for Forty Shades of Blue, the Memphis-bred, now New York-based Sachs is in Los Angeles completing pre-production on his next film, Marriage, a period piece set in the Pacific Northwest in 1949.

With a budget of "around $12 million" and an eye-popping cast -- Chris Cooper, Rachel McAdams, Patricia Clarkson, and Pierce Brosnan are the principals -- this genre film, set to begin shooting in Vancouver at the end of the summer, signifies a big step-up for Sachs.

The script for Marriage, co-written by Sachs and Oren Moverman (Jesus' Son), is adapted from the British pulp mystery Five Roundabouts to Heaven by John Bingham.

"It's the story of a married man who falls in love with another woman and decides divorcing his wife will cause her too much pain, and it will be better to kill her," Sachs says. "Then it becomes a suspense film about whether or not he'll go through with it."

Cooper, who won an Oscar for Adaptation, plays the husband. Indie veteran Clarkson (The Station Agent) plays the wife. Rising superstar McAdams (subject of a recent Entertainment Weekly story about her judicious choice of roles) plays the woman Cooper's character has an affair with. And former James Bond Brosnan plays the best friend, "the consummate bachelor."

"This film is inspired by times my then-boyfriend and I would stay home and watch Joan Crawford movies -- '30s and '40s melodramas," Sachs says. "Those films would take exaggerated situations and have audiences relate to them very personally, and I think that's what Marriage is like."

The plot of Marriage evokes the great '40s Edward G. Robinson/Fritz Lang collaborations Scarlet Street and The Woman in the Window, influences Sachs also acknowledges.

"I think Cooper is very much in the style of Robinson in that he's someone you can identify with yet very much has a power on screen," Sachs says. "He's an Everyman in a way."

After getting great notices for the performances he got from Rip Torn and relative-unknown Dina Korzun, Sachs gets to work with some of the most high-profile and respected actors in American movies. So how did he put this cast together?

"It's a process," Sachs says. "It's a culmination of the script, which I think is a page-turner. It's a good read and people can see it as a film. Forty Shades of Blue had strong performances, and I think that gave these actors confidence in me. Basically, it's like courting. For the past 12 months, I've been trying to court a series of strong actors who would be right for the roles."

According to Sachs, Marriage will be financed by Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, a company that has been involved with films as diverse as 9 ½ Weeks and the current United 93. Marriage will be produced by Steve Golin, who has worked on some of the very best recent American films, producing Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Being John Malkovich.

"He's one of the good guys out here," Sachs says of Golin. "He knows how to work the system but is very much oriented toward filmmakers and preserving the creative vision of a film."

After searching for a distributor at Sundance for Forty Shades of Blue, Sachs says Marriage is likely to be distributed through MGM in a pre-arranged deal.

"At this amount of money, it's not something where you hope to get a distributor," Sachs says. "I think that will be set up in advance. It'll still end up going to a festival to launch it but likely with a distributor in hand."

Filming for Marriage is to begin July 21st until October 27th in Vancouver, B.C.

2006 MTV Movie Awards

'Wedding Crashers' wins 3 MTV Movie Awards

Last summer's "Wedding Crashers" was the big winner at Saturday's 2006 MTV Movie Awards, collecting three prizes, including the coveted Golden Popcorn trophy for best movie.

The film also earned breakthrough performance honors for Isla Fisher and best on-screen team award for Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson.

The unconventional awards show, held on a soundstage at Sony Studios, celebrates the fun of films with prizes recognizing the best on-screen hero, villain, kiss and fight, as well as sexy, funny and frightened performances.

Host Jessica Alba turned current blockbusters into comedic treats with parodies of "The Da Vinci Code," "Mission Impossible: III" and "King Kong."

"It was a lot of work" making the mini-movies, she told The Associated Press. "At the end of the day, I needed a bath and a cry."

Alba took home her own Golden Popcorn trophy for her sexy performance in "Sin City."

Jake Gyllenhaal was a double winner. He beat out Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon for best performance and teamed with "Brokeback Mountain" co-star Heath Ledger for best kiss.

"This is a real honor, not just for me and Heath but for all of you, that you picked this movie and this kiss over all the other ones," Gyllenhaal said.

Awards are based on fan votes.

Rapper LL Cool J presented Spike Lee with the Silver Bucket of Excellence for "Do the Right Thing," his 1989 film examining racial tensions. The prize honors a movie from the past that has present-day resonance.

"The sad thing is that the issues that we tried to address with 'Do the Right Thing' are still with us today, so how much progress have we made?" Lee asked as he accepted his award.

Will Ferrell presented fellow funnyman Jim Carrey with the MTV Generation Award for his diverse body of work.

"This man's versatility makes Thomas Jefferson look like a big fat idiot," Ferrell said.

Wearing an all-white suit, Carrey took the stage with a cadre of winged angels and performed a spontaneous hip-shaking jig.

The show also featured musical performances by soul duo Gnarls Barkley, rockers AFI and scantily clad songbird Christina Aguilera, who performed "Ain't No Other Man."

The show is scheduled to air at 8:30 p.m. June 8 on MTV.

I'm searching fiercely through MTV, gettyimages and other communities for any pictures of Rachel, but I have yet to find any; which means it's possible she didn't go. The minute I find out either way, though, I'll let everyone know!

ETS: All right guys, as much as I hate to be the one to say it; it looks like Rachel didn't show up at the MTV Awards. Major bummer to the max.

The quality is pretty bad, and I found it off a Rachel community on LJ, but I can't remember which one so I'm sorry, I can't credit! I'll keep looking, though. I guess the picture is supposed to be of Rachel and Ryan while they were still in L.A. recently!

Also, don't forget; the MTV Movie Awards are on this Thursday and Rachel has been nominated for Best Performance from Red Eye!
